Anyone know what type of memory i require.

I have the Samsung Q35 Red model currently with 1gig or ram. Am i right in thinking that this laptop only has one space for memory so i have to find 1 single modual of 2 gig??

You are correct that the Q35 has got only one RAM slot. The other RAM is fixed on the motherboard. You need a DDR2 200 pin SODIMM, preferably PC5300 (667MHz).

This Transcend 2GB module works in my Q35. I would expect other 2GB modules that meet the above specification to also work.
