For no reason there's a vertical blue line appeared on my screen today, just 1 line from top to bottom. Do I have to replace my LCD or is there a simple fix for this? If I have to replace it then what is the cheapest way to do this? I can do it myself but I search on Ebay an OEM LCD screen runs for almost $300, that's way too much. Please help...

Have you checked that the display is OK on an external display?

My first suspicion would be a connector problem where the cable connecting the mainboard to the display has become partly unseated at one end. This cable, which passes through the hinge, gets a lot of stress.

Getting to each end of this cable may require substantial disassembly.

hi John, thanks so much for your reply, I checked the cables and it is not the cable, I think it is a LCD itself. Do you know where to get the cheapest LCD for it? The cheapest I can find is $160, is it good?

I've never needed to buy or change an LCD, so I can't give good advice.

However, $160 seems to be a good price, provided it's the right one.
