I'm considering buying one of the two laptops below from Samsung but I cannot find clearly if either of is compatible with a complete docking station which I can simply drop it into on my desk and have it work with my dual monitors, Ethernet plug, and speakers.

    Notebook 9 pro 15.6" (NP940Z5L-X01US)

    Notebook 7 spin 15.6", 16 GB RAM (NP740U5L-Y03US)

    Thank you

The specifications for both do not mention a specific docking port. The Samsung website offers a USB 3.0 dock while various companies such as this offer a docking station which uses the USB C port. It appears that notebook manufacturers are phasing out dedicated docking ports now that USB C can provide sufficient capability through one small standard connector.
