    alright folks.

sick of my acer w500 tablet now. miss the use of a keyboard.
i fancy one with an SSD for fast booting, between 12"-14", at least 1 USB 3.0, bluetooth would be nice but not essential, the thinner and lighter the better, and HD Screen.
it will only be used for surfing the web and watching movies etc. but i still like more power than I need. battery life 7hrs+
Say at very top end £900, cheaper the better.

will be buying from here as I have credit.

anyone see any others that would be better suited. i do like the design of these but if there is something better value from the link, im open to suggestions, but not apple.

The NP900X3D has an HD+ (1600 x 900) display. It's slightly cheaper at Amazon who have a much better returns policy but I see that you are locked into that supplier. Two points I would note are (i) the CPU is Sandy Bridge, so almost two generations out of date but nonetheless more than capable of your proposed tasks; and (ii) the 128GB SSD doesn't leave the user with a lot of spare space. You will also struggle to get 7 hours off the battery. The larger NP900X4C is now in the same price range and has a larger battery that will get past 7 hours without difficulty.

thanks John. Ye, got some credit on very so would like to use that. they give warranty options as well

does the NP900X4C only come in 15"? its not listed on very's site yet.

i suppose i could live with a slightly shorter battery length, memory doesn't bother me as i have been using a 32gb tablet for the last 2 years with an 64gb SD card inserted. also have a 1TB, USB 3.0 external HDD

were you able to check out any of the other laptops on the site? is there better spec ones on there that i missed, not too savvy with specs.

I am no expert on the Series 9, but I did notice that the NP900X3D linked by kevykat claims to have 1920x1080 screen while the 900X3D on Amazon only says HD+. Although 1920x1080 is very high for web browsing on a 13.3 inch display, it is great for watching 1080p movies at native resolution.

Conversely, I consider 1600x900 to be on low side for a 15in (like the 900X4C) -- and both 720p and 1080p movies must be scaled (up or down) to fit the display. But that's largely a matter of personal preference.

And with that, I'll leave this discussion to people who actually know the Series 9

Only the new models (NP900X3E) have the 1920x1080 screen. That listing is in error.
