I have a Samsung np900x3c laptop which is stuck on the boot screen. It keeps telling me to press f2 to access bios or f4 to recover. The f4 does not work. I have tried several ways but it's still stuck.
This happened after I have download updates from Samsung website.

Possibly hard drive failure, I think it is F12 but press the function key on start up to see which bootable devices are present - if the HDD is not listed it could be faulty or needs reseating

You may have moved on and/or already found a solution, but in case you haven't, and for the benefit of others who may come across this thread in the future:
Unfortunately this sounds like a familiar problem with some generations of Samsung laptops, where the NVRAM used by the UEFI becomes corrupted, preventing F-keys from working during boot (such as F11 to select a boot device), and thus also preventing access to BIOS with F2.
This is discussed in numerous threads here in the Samsung forum, the main thread being the one linked below. Study that, follow the guide in post #7, but also make sure to study the rest of the thread, as there are many tips you may need to get your computer to boot anything at all -- which will be required to salvage it.

Of course it is absolutely possible that your problem is just a bad drive -- and I hope for you it is, as that is easier to solve, even though it costs a replacement drive.
Good luck. Please keep us posted on your progress. I will watch this thread if you post here again.toughasnails likes this.
