    Samsung NP700Z5C RAM to 20GB?

    Did anyone try, or was successful in upgrading the RAM in Samsung NP700Z5X to above 12GB?

    Given that that one DIMM (4GB) is soldered, I was wondering, if it would work if I replaced the other with a 1x16GB SO DIMM, like this one: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0123BRIDK/ref=psdc_430178031_t1_B01IDFD71M

    My own model has the i7-3615QM, listed on ark.intel.com as supporting up to 32GB of RAM, so the CPU should be OK with that. The question is the BIOS and the motherboard...

    It's very unlikely that the computer will recognise 16GB modules - see here. Perhaps Intel's 32GB means 4 x 8GB.
