    Hi there,

I am new here. Hope you could help me from my issue -

I bought Samsung NP355E5C-A02HK which is a 2nd hand and out of warranty with pre installed Windows 8. Well, I hated it so I decided to install Win 7. I deleted all drives available and formatted. It was a installed and it worked well.

    ISSUE:

Everytime I turn on the my laptop I need to press F10 to show the boot option to select the P0: (which is the hard drive) or else I am gonna get stuck with a black screen after showing the samsung logo. It does not automatically boot on hard drive.

I enabled and disabled the secure boot and i tried to work around but still no luck.

    Please help.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi ronniefaith, welcome to NBR.

Downgrading your model to Win7 has several issues, including the fact that Win7 doesn't run well in UEFI mode on Samsung laptops (so you need to convert your disk to MBR and disable UEFI before installing) AND the fact that WIndows Setup gets confused by the ExpressCache drive (so-called iSSD) and places its boot partition on it. You're probably suffering from either or both of these.

Please read the posts here and here to understand the UEFI/GPT/MBR issues.

Then follow this Win7 install guide to re-install WIn7, starting with the steps to convert your disk to MBR.

In your case, you should install from a DVD if at all possible. It will save you a lot of hassle. If you MUST install from USB, then be prepared that you will need to fix a boot problem after Setup completes copying files and tries to boot the first time. Follow these steps to fix that.
