    Hello,

I've recently bought a nc10 (NP-NC10-KAP1PL) notebook from my GSM provider. Everything works fine but...
When I try to update the bios I get the following error:
The Bios/MICOM model to be updated is different.
    Check the program.
Current model: (Bios Part Number): NC10(A03)
New model: (Bios Part Number): NC10(A00)

My current bios version is 00CD

When I start the notebook the bios shows a big logo of my provider instead of the standard start-up screen so I figure that the bios must have been modified in some fashion.

Now the main question: is there a way to force the bios update and to "de-brand" the notebook?
How dangerous the procedure can be?

If you can afford not to mess with the BIOS, don't. If something goes wrong, you're left with a dead motherboard, and a bunch of otherwise working components. Not worth it imo.

The normal NC10 has a BIOS called nnCA where nn are two numbers (eg 03CA).

If you BIOS is 00CD then it is from a different family. It might be something to do with the 3G support.
