Back in December the Microsoft Canada Online store had a killer deal on the Samsung ATIV Book 9 2014. I missed out on it and it never came back. I guess it was a clearance sale cause there isn't any Samsung laptops on the Microsoft Online store anymore. The same is true on Samsung Canada online site. All laptop has disappeared from the official Canadian site. It just happened either today or yesterday because only a few days ago they were still on there.

It's unfortunate. I hope Samsung will bring back their laptops someday.

Samsung had made the decision a while ago to remove itself from the international laptop market. My guess here is you are seeing this actually in action at this point.

I brought it up because all the press release only indicated Europe. There wasn't any mention of it being 'international' market or even the Canadian market. Disappointed that they left us hanging.

Honestly, I believe that if they marketed the Series 9/Ativ Book Laptop alongside the Galaxy smartphones, they would have a much more sustainable market.

I'm not surprised: There were no Canadian versions of the few Samsung Broadwell notebooks that have been released. Only China. Korea and USA have been endowed with those. The rest of us have to hope that the notebook business in those markets remains sufficiently profitable that Samsung decide to reintroduce notebooks to a few more countries (and also broaden their overall product range).

I always like the design of Samsung notebooks, but the premium cost for them never made sense to me (same thing with LG).

Luckily, I go to Korea every year or two, so I tend to pick up something there. Last time I went, I snagged up a Clevo (although I had no idea about Clevos at the time).
