    Hey Guys,

    Just though of sharing.

My Samsung Gamer 700G7A's GPU broke and I tried replacing it. The GPU is an AMD Readeon 6970M.

I bought a replacement card of the same model 6970M that is manufactured by Dell for Alienware laptop MXM module (during this time, I can't find sellers of the exact GPU for Samsung).

I was able to make the GPU work through a bit of force adjustment of the heatsink and by removing the left speaker in my laptop. Note that the standard GPU module will not fit in the Samsung Gamer.

The problem however, was that the GPU is overheating within a couple of minutes of use. In fact, the GPU fan does not work as well and even if it worked, I don't think it will cause any changes in the increase of temperature.

So to conclude, we'll have to get a replacement card of the exact same GPU from Samsung.

yes, unfortunately these are a proprietary MxM board. same to be said of the nvidia GPU's as well.
