    Hi,

I would be very grateful if somone could tell me where to find the CMOS battery in a Samsung GT9000. I have done quite a bit of dismantling and can find no trace of it anywhere.

It badly needs replaced, but before starting again it would be very useful to know exactly where I should look.

    Many thanks,

    Hi,

To answer my own question and help others who may need to replace the CMOS battery on one of these laptops.

The RM GT9000 was traded under the RM name but was in fact manufactured by Samsung. The battery is easily located once the laptop is completely dismantled and the motherboard removed. The battery, an easily sourced CR2025 3 volt lithium button cell, is located on the underside of the motherboard, i.e. the side normally facing the ground. ItÂ’s held in position by a sticky pad and has two leads soldered to the battery with a small two pin connector on the other end for connecting to the motherboard.

Thanks for the feedback and update. It will help anyone else with the same problem since Googling for "GT9000 CMOS battery" puts this first.
