Thought I would start a new thread for the latest good prices on Samsung notebooks.

I just spotted that Laptops Direct are offering the Q35 NP-Q35A000/SUK (T5200 / 1GB / 100Gb / Vista Home Premium) for £714.97. So it seems that this model is no longer only sold by only the DSG Group (current best price is at Dixon's web site of £729.99).

    John

PS: 12th May - I see that the Dixons price is now back up at £749.99.

Interestingly enough, this place: http://www.notebook.de/ allows you to change the keyboard on the laptop to UK/EN. It also seems to carry the q45 already! Hope there's a review up soon as I'm very curious about battery life of the Q45.

okay... good for you i guess or to those who need that keyboard, but after the addon of the UK/EN keyboard, the price gonna be more or less the same as in UK.

the Q45 seems really nice, too bad, it is way out of my budget already... lol... else i would love to be the one who write the review regarding that model...

It's a holiday weekend and the DSG version of the Q35 at Dixons is £729.99. Coupon code "10mayaw" takes another £10 off the price.

Optional coverplan insurance at £309 does not seem such a good deal.

For anyone wanting a lightweight 14.1" machine, the X1 at Morgan is slowly getting cheaper. It is now at £587.49.

Q35 at Laptops Direct for under £700!

This seems to be the same version as sold by PC World / Currys / Dixons, but a bit cheaper.

And the Q45 is £775.50 at DigiUK.

I would expect it to be the same model (Q45A002/SUK) although Play doesn't give the model number. While I have used play.com many times for smaller items, I've never thought of buying something that expensive from them.

    And here's a good deal on the Samsung R20 T5500 / 1GB / 160GB version (R20F002/SUK).

This is the version that Comet were selling for £559.99 but was recently dropped from their website.

The 1.66GHz T5500 Core 2 Duo has a similar performance to a 1.83GHz T2250 Core Duo so I don't think it sold that well expect to people who wanted a 64-bit CPU.

But at less than £500 it is very attractive and has to be the R20 best buy.
