Hello everybody, this is a great place, and its my first post in the comunity.

i have a problem with my new laptop, samsung chronos series 7
    the exactly model is np700z5c-s01ub
the first time when i buy this notebook, i put a pass of bios, but after two week i decide quit the pass.
i go to the setup across f2 then put the original pass, and then the next two step put in blank
after that i reboot, and ask me again password, but now not reconize the old pass and the new pass.

when i put the wrong pass 3 times return me a code of 18 charters
and the same will change after reboot the pc,(is different every time reboot)

    anymore have this problem ?
take this week to support the samsung notebook in my country, and they said they can not reset the BIOS password, they will have to change the mother back to use it!

thank you in advance if anyone can tell me step your experience about this topic

    Ricardo.

A BIOS password is a security feature. If anyone here knows the solution to your problem then it will not be posted here because such knowledge will be of benefit to thieves.

Hi John, i dont asking if anyone know how to by pass or reset, maybe I misspoke.

I wanted to know if this error was common, or if someone else had happened,

since, I have experience in systems, and as changing a BIOS password, and do not think I have typed wrong or have forgotten the password.

then understand it is an equipment failure when procedure to change the password.

    thanks

I don't recall anyone else reporting this problem but I suspect that the minority of users enable a BIOS password and a minority of them then change the password.

take the computer to the official Samsung service and they said that if you forget the passsord, not fix it, they have to change the mother.
and as there are no parts of it, will take a few months to repair it.

    I'm happy

YES!! The exact same thing just happened to me. This is my 8th laptop & 11th computer, for the most part, I know what I am doing. I will set a "setup" password when traveling, and clear it when I get home - never had the slightest problem before. This is yet another downside of having no access to the inside. Strange that all manufacturers made this change together.

To all who are having this issue, do not fall for the scam websites that will sell you the master BIOS password.
