To start, I recently got the RV515-A01 and am trying to figure out what bloatware I should keep, if any...

    Already Uninstalled
    CyberLink Everything
    Bing Bar

    Things I'm Thinking to Uninstall
Easy Content Share - sounds useless
    Easy Migration - sounds useless
Easy Network Manager - sounds redundant to the windows utility
Easy Speed Up Manager - sounds dangerous...like those quick ram tweaks.
Fast Start - sounds dangerous....like those quick ram tweaks..
Easy File Share - sounds useless
Norton - yea this is going for sure
Samsung Support Center - sounds like the lenovo windows experience thing

    Things I'm Keeping For Sure
Easy Display Manager - heard its required for Fn keys..is this true?
Easy Battery Manager - no clue what this is good for
Battery Life Extender - or this... do i need these?
    Movie Color Enhancer - ...is...this
Samsung Update Plus - prolly keep this...to update drivers n such
Samsung Recovery Solutions - I'll prolly keep this...in case i regret later

Things I REALLY have no clue what to do with?
Samsung AnyWebPrint - this does what?
Samsung Printer Live Update - again...what does this do...
Samsung Universal Print Driver - why do i need these...sounds generic
Samsung Universal Scan Driver - again..shudn scanners havn own drivers

So fellow samsung owners, I need your help. Please comment on my choices above and let me know if I'm making a horrible move removing some critical pieces or do I need to be more aggressive and remove more of this bloatware?

Meh too late...but if this thread does get replies, I can update the first post accordingly so that in time it can become a faq of sorts for new samsung purchasers.

Ideally, it would include a quick synopsis of the program's intended functions, as well as a one-liner indicating whether the program is worth keeping or not. It could be as simple as "This program is a great dvd movie maker but there is a much better free alternative X, thus you should uninstall this one"

I agree with most of your classification but would note: (i) Check out what Easy Speed Up Manager does. IIRC to provides some settings for balancing performance and fan noise. (ii) check out what Fast Start does. It might be boot optimisation. (iii) Samsung Update Plus is erratic. (iv) Does the movie enhancer do anything useful. (v) I used to keep PowerDVD but delete the rest of the Cyberlink suite.

Note that you can download and reinstall the Samsung software but once you remove the 3rd party programs then the only way to get them back is to reload the factory image.

I'm setting up a Samsung Series 7 Ultra 730U3E which comes with some other bloatware I'm not sure of:
Samsung E-POP (probably the software with a big Samsung logo which popped up after first boot)
Samsung Help Desk (sounds useless to me)

I may keep and are not listed above:
    Samsung Settings (various system settings)

    Pre-installed to be deleted:
    Samsung User Guide
Norton Internet Security (60-day trial only)
    Microsoft Office (trial only)

    Regards,
    fuggi

    Hi fuggi, welcome to NBR.

This post contains general guidance for removing junk and optimizing a new Samsung laptop. It includes a link to this post which lists all the bloat that came with my NP700Z3A and my take on what to keep and what to lose. It may be a little different for your model, but much is still the same.

Most drivers you want to keep (though not necessarily all). Beyond that, Settings is really the only thing critical. I would NOT remove that, since it handles Fn-keys and other hardware features.

This is an almost two years old thread, so I wouldn't count on it. I believe the links I gave you is the most updated we have right now.

Before you uninstall the user guide find the guide (probably a PDF file) and save it somewhere (and also read it - something that most people seem to neglect to do!). You can then run the uninstaller.

I've found those manual PDFs to be one of the few items that remain available on the web site. And reading it is excellent advice :)
