    I've downloaded maxdriver to tell me more about the details of th hardware, to find out that

    VIdeo Card
    1. Name Mobile Intel(R) HD Graphics
    Adapter RAM -1320394752 B
    Video processor Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
    Availability Running or Full Power

    2. Name AMD Radeon HD 6490M
    Adapter RAM 512.00 MB
    Video processor ATI display adapter (0x6760)
    Availability Offline
    ANy idea?

    The AMD Radeon Card should work like Optimus. If you're running a game or a graphics intensive software, it will activate the AMD Radeon HD 6490M card, and deactivate Mobile Intel(R) HD Graphics. This the laptop to conserve battery. That's my guess as to why it's offline.

    Well for some reason google sketchup does not function properly, because it says that it doesnt recognize the openGL.

    If I'm not mistaking it runs them as needed. Meaning if the other program becomes too demanding for the integrated it will use the dedicated instead, i.e. any game, etc.
