So I have this Samsung NC10 netbook which is being used by mommy and doesn't have a single scratch on it....

Suddenly, the screen starts randomly becoming all white....so we take it to the service center here in Dubai and it took them 1 month till they got the new screen and the cable for it and had it installed again....

after this long wait...I turn on the laptop....it works for 3 hours...then......white screen!!!!

And i had a full report by SAMSUNG that they had changed the screen and changed the cable connecting the screen....POS service!

Now the laptop is back at the service center and I dunno how long i have to wait now.... they were like...please bring your battery as it may have to do with the battery also...   riiiiiiiiight... does the battery have to do with the screen becoming white??

definately my last Samsung laptop....

The lack of a stock of spare parts for the NC10 suggests that they don't get a lot of service requests for that model. You have been very unlucky.

I have to wonder whether they didn't diagnose the problem correctly. I would have started with the place where the display cable connects to the motherboard.

As for wanting the battery, etc., that is standard procedure for all service requests so that all possibilities can be checked. However, I agree that it is most unlikely to be the cause of your problem.

Per this site: Samsung NC10 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia the battery is irrelevant. I think it is a stalling tactic myself. Programmers do that all the time too when they either don't know what they are doing or need some space to ponder the day away! :(
