    Hi Guys,
I have just reinstalled, clean installed, windows 7 on my samsung series 5 np530u3c. What im seeing now is that the SSD [which had two partitions] is showing up one of its partitions in my computer as an empty 4gb parition. I dont remember what it was used for before but I do not know what to do with it now or how to get it back to express cache [is that even possible?]

ideally I would like EC to use the whole 24gb of the ssd

Just to make sure I understand you correctly: You still have an HDD as the main drive (where you just re-installed Windows). The small 24GB SSD used for ExpressCache (so-called iSSD) only has a 16GB partition and 4GB empty, whereas you would like to use all 24GB for ExpressCache. Is that correctly understood?

The remaining 4GB is normally used for Intel Rapid Start (not to be confused with Intel Rapid STORAGE). Easy Settings controls how the size is divided between the two.

I imagine if you uninstall Intel Rapid Start and ExpressCache (reboot), then delete all partitions on the iSSD, and re-install just ExpressCache, that it will use the full iSSD. You may have to also uninstall Easy Settings before you re-install EC. You can re-install it once EC runs as desired.

Otherwise you can try using the ECCmd -PARTITION command from an Administrator Command Prompt to manually create the ExpressCache partition. It is located in the ExpressCache program folder, but you should be able to run it from anywhere once ExpressCache is installed.
