So I recently got a new SSD and did a clean reeinstall of Windows.
I installed all the windows updates and the drivers through SW Update.

The thing is I remember having an entry "SRS Premium Sound" in the list of my installed programs, which is now missing. Also the Audio quality is noticeably worse. I have, according to SW Update, the latest Audio driver installed 6.0.1.7318.
Is this the latest one? and where is the SRS program?

I've been manually looking in the SW Update database and the Windows 8.1 drivers seem to be missing at the moment. Perhaps something is broken.

However, if the SRS Premium software is something that is normally paid for then Samsung might not have put it in the SW Update database which anyone can access but it should be on the driver disc / flash drive that you you can make using Samsung Recovery Solution if you put the orginal SSD back into the computer.

Let's see what NP940X3G owners have to add.

the thing is i never kept the original Samsung factory install. I directly wiped the SSD and put Win8.1 directly on the factory drive. Thtas why its so weird. After one fresh install its there, after another it isnt.

Your info suggests that SRS Premium is in a Windows 8.1 download - probably embedded in the Realtek audio driver.

However, all the Windows 8.1 NP940X3G drivers are currently missing from SW Update. Look forward to an update being offered when they reappear.

I also recommend that you use the Export facility in SW Update to make your own local copy of everything downloadable for your notebook.
