I recently stopped using many Google services, including Chrome, because of their new privacy policy. I decided to go back to my old friend, Firefox.

Upon using Firefox, I noticed everything felt quite sluggish. Flash videos do not load properly sometimes. However, on youtube I see less problems than on other Flash websites.

As I'm typing now, even the letters being translated from the keyboard strokes to the input box for this post are quite sluggish. When I switch tabs, it is sluggish.

I'm using the default graphics drivers shipped with my SAMSUNG Series 7 700Z5A-S03 that I bought about 3 weeks ago.

    Thank you for the support!

Edit: I have the ATI switchable graphics configured for Firefox to use High Performance.

I don't know whether this helps, but I also use stock drivers and experience annoying behaviour with flash and other Media Players. You can use CPUID Hardware Monitor to see if the graphics is generated by the ATI card or the Intel chip. The monitor reports temperature 0 if the integrated graphics chip is not used. On my S03SE I get the following table no matter the settings in the ATI Catalyst Control Center, and no matter whether Flash is set to use the graphics card:

    Graphics card...... Intel
    IE9.....................Chrome (>240p)
    Win MP................VLC
    Chrome(240p)......Classic MP
    ...........................CyberLink MP

I have no problems with quality, instead the problem is that the Intel chip needs cooling even at very low loads which drains the battery at twice the speed compared to when the graphics card is used, which forces me to use Windows MP and IE9 for media. Maybe your problem is somehow related..?

I'm glad to hear someone else is experiencing these issues, but I hope we can work towards a fix.

I'm installing the 12.1 drivers now.

Do you get the same problems when you change Firefox to "Power Saving"?

It actually improved the performance a little bit. There is still some slowness but I need more time to test it.

Try downloading the new drivers that Samsung released yesterday. I noticed a substantial difference in performance with Firefox.

Thank you for recommending that. Since I do not use the Samsung Software Manager I had no idea that they released new drivers! I will try them soon (have to uninstall my Catalyst 12.1 UnifL v2.7 drivers and install the factory drivers first).

Thanks again! Has anyone else seen improvement after installing the new drivers?
