    Hi all,

does any of you have SAMSUNG RF511? dont know to much about the Samsungs laptops.
I found it with: Intel Core i7 2630QM Sandy Bridge, 15.6" LED 1366x768 mat, RAM 6GB DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GT540M 2GB, HDD 750GB 5400 rot, DVD, WiFi, Bluetooth, webkamera, , 6 cell batery, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Do you think that mat screen can affect work in photoshop? Im not big fan of glossy screens.

    Thanks

I don't have that laptop, but 1366x768 is kinda low for a 15". Another option is the Dell XPS 15z, it has a FHD(1080p) screen, i5 or i7 CPU, and Nvidai GT 540M. I believe they go for under $800.

I've got the previous model RF510, which is essentially the same but with different hardware:
    +++
Runs very cool on the case, very pleased with that
Very well build for the price
    Great keyboard
    Great touchpad
    Looks very good when clean
RF511 comes with great battery life compared to competition (mine doesn't as it uses old-gen hardware and is not very optimized unlike RF511)
Has 2 USB 3.0 ports which will be handy
Sound's very decent - it isn't the same as ASUS N53/N55 or XPS 15z but does the job, only lacks bass
Palmrest is very confortable and nice to the hands
You can run most modern games at decent detail/FPS with the hardware
Haven't heard about any Optimus issues, which are seen very often these days
Depending on what model you are looking at it might have a Blu Ray drive...
No issues with drivers and installed software (when you remove obviously junk items preinstalled)
    Screen is bright
    -----
Screen Res is low, I was used to 1600x900, but unfortunately Samsung doesn't offer the option of such res on the RFs
Screen needs some serious tweaking through Nvidia Control Panel etc to get the right colors and contrast - it came with terrible settings
The lid gets very dirty due to surface (dust+fingers), I clean mine at least once every two days
Screen is glossy but the AR coating sort of compensates - you can use it outside unlike some other glossy screens due to high brightness and AR coating but it still isn't close to matte finish

If there's anything else to ask, feel free

(Screen needs some serious tweaking through Nvidia Control Panel etc to get the right colors and contrast - it came with terrible settings) --- this is true 100%. i did this in intel graphic settings, just increase to (12) saturation, and all colors looking good. --- Nvidia optimus --- i like this technology.

Just noticed he is getting a matte version, so the last minus goes away...matte is better than glossy any day...

On mine I've adjusted more or less everything except the hue, really I can't believe they have so terrible factory settings - because of them some people think the screen is even worse than standard TN matrices, while in reality they are on par with the competition, just have really poor settings...
