Hi guys, first post in this community, I have found some very helpful information here.

I have a question regarding my computer, which is the Series 7 bestbuy version.
Every minute or so I hear this clicking sound (best way I can describe it) coming from the machine. It is very annoying, and since the computer is really quiet, I can really notice it. I imagine it's the hard drive doing something, but it happens even if I'm just @ desktop or reading some thing in chrome.
Does anyone else's do this? I just want to know if it is normal, or if I was blessed with a gimped machine again.

This is my second machine (first one had a dead pixel). One thing that concerns me about returning it again is that I noticed that you cannot order it on the website anymore (No longer shipping), and that all stores around my area are now out of stock - strange.

Other than that, I love the machine. I noticed my first one had the space bar issue, but this one does not at all.

edit: maybe I'm being picky about my machine, but the sound isn't very loud. However, I did not notice it on my first unit, and I feel like a $1000 device should be working 100%...

edit 2: other observations: doesn't make a single sound during boot up and shut down, just when I'm online after playing TF2... maybe that has something to do with it..

You shouldn't be hearing a clicking sound. It might be a HDD problem since that only thing I can think of that clicks because it's spins.
Can you try to pinpoint where it is? Like front or back?

    Photo

Using that photo since your hearing it from the top left it could be a fan might be hitting something. But I'm not too sure unless you open it up and test it.

had to get that off my chest

Now that I put my ear next to the vents in the bottom front left, I can def hear it.

How would I go about fixing this?

Thanks for the help and the pic btw, Xtreme.

Well since you have the Best Buy version I guess you can try Best Buy. Since it is most likely a hardware problem. Plus I assume it has atleast one year warranty.

If you are sure that you can do it, you can disassemble the laptop to see if the noise is caused by loose pieces of material.

If you feel you can't, then you have the option of exchanging, or returning and purchase a new set.
