I suddenly have this issue on my 8.1 laptop after enabling ethernet for the first time and can in no way boot the laptop without potentially disassembling it and removing hardware. I'm still within my factory warranty and was told I can send it in.

Their repair center is in TX and I'm in MD. I have to pay for a laptop box and shipping for my $1000 laptop. I came across a possible solution to my problem where a guy had to open up the case and remove the HDD to get it to recovery mode. Obviously this requires removing the entire bottom cover. I'm usually pretty handy with opening up laptops, but I'm curious if this will void the warranty.

If it does not void the warranty, should I send it in for repair or attempt it myself, not knowing if this solution is even the one for me? Thanks.
