Recently purchased Samsung ATIV Book 4. Why don't I have the battery life extender on my settings?

My settings is on ver 2.0.0.46 with no update available. My power management only has eco mode and is short of the "battery life plus with smart charging" that I keep seeing online. My settings seems to be short of a couple other things as well such as "fast boot" and "chargeable usb". How do I get the battery life extender and the other useful things on my settings?

I also have another question. Am I using my battery efffectively? I want to keep it healthy. Basically I've been charging it up to 100% and then unplugging it until its around 20% then replugging it back to 100%. I've also been leaving the laptop unplugged overnight when its shut down. Is this the best routine for these types of laptops with no removable battery?

Also, in the beginning, the wifi on this laptop was absolute crap. Luckily it has been fixed after countless rage, trying to uninstall and reinstall the driver. Since then, I just downloaded the wifi adapter on the samsung site that happens to be older than the one suggested on sw update and it has been working well ever since yesterday.

Samsung appear to have dropped the Battery Life Extender on the new Ativ Book Models. See this thread for further discussion.

The best way to keep the battery healthy is to leave it plugged into the mains unless you actually need to run on battery. Once it is fully charged it will stop charging and it's the charging / discharging process that causes the Lithium batteries to wear out. You can look at the battery properties using HWiNFO and see if it shows the charge cycle count, which is an indication of how many times the battery has been charged and discharge.

Regarding the WiFi, if it is the Intel 6235 then see this thread.

I'll make an estimate from first principles assuming that the info here is applicable: 3 cell 43WHr battery with Intel CPU / graphics. Getting the power drain down to 10W should be reasonably easy and that will give you 4 hours. Getting the power drain down to 8W should be feasible with a fairly dim screen and would give 5 hours run time.

Thanks, John. What do you think if I install a SSD in ativ book 4? how many hours of surfing with 40% of bright?

An SSD might, as best, reduce the power consumption by 1W and give you a further half hour of run time.

You might be able stretch the run time to 6 hours but it depend of factors such as how many tabs you have open in your web browser, whether those tabs contain animated content and the quality of WiFi connection. However, I would assume an upper limit of 5 hours until experience shows that more is feasible.
