    It's unusual for 15" notebooks to include dual HDD bays. One way you can add a second HDD is to replace the optical drive.

    i dont game, i just web browse, etc. college stuff. chat, videos.

    disk IS needed. would i be better off with a hybrid drive?. i just want quick opening of programs etc, and everything. i have 8gb ram, and i7 to boot, so i know it has power, but i just want super respnsiveness and start up times.

    A hybrid HDD (eg Seagate Momentus) would be better than an ordinary HDD. An SSD would be better still. You may find that you could make do with a smallish SSD (eg 120GB) which are now not much above the HDD price range if you put your current HDD in an enclosure and used it for bulk storage of videos etc.
