After deliberating, saving and reviewing the excellent input from posters, I ordered my 2.Ghz/1.5Mb Q35 yesterday.
    As I'm not technical - a question.
I produce PowerPoint presentations for my business and think 5 people sitting around the Q35 screen to see them is fine. I'm 40+ and I can see the screen from a few yards away!
BUT .... and a silly question you might say - how do I connect up the Q35 to an external projector? My mate says I need a VGA port(?) but I don't know about the technical aspects and I assume a powerful laptop (as this is I'm assured) will have all the bells and whistles for doing this?
I tried a couple of practice PP slides in the shop on the Q35 and they looked good!
    Thanks

I did a presentation yesterday so I can answer with confidence. The VGA port is near the back on the right side (as you are looking at the computer). I'm never confident that the computer will detect an external display while it is running (this used to be a problem but may not be now) so I hibernate the computer, plug in the display or projector and then wake the computer.

You will need to use Fn+F4 to select internal + external displays (LCD + monitor option) and you will probably need to change the Q35's display resolution to 1024 x 768 to match the external display.

As you say, you can use the computer itself for small groups provided you have used appropriate text sizes. The display is quite bright and easy to read. I ran my Q35 off battery for a 2 hour presentation and had 60% power remaining at the end. However, the display was at 2/8 brightness.
