How do you all find the displays on your Q310/210s? I just can't get over the fact that I feel strained while/after using the Q310 as the display seems to lack sharpness and therefore strains my eyes.
Just want to know what the rest of the owners feel about their displays.

    Hi.

Have you tried adjusting the brightness and contrast in the nvidia control panel also increase the digital vibrance.

    Regards

    John.

Ummm... no :p Well, the brightness yes, but i might have to look at the contrast and vibrance settings. Never occured to me.

EDIT: just played around and... well it still is not quite there. Woul dnot call it much better either - a bit different though.

What settings do you personally use?

...also - do you experience nay apparent eye strain that you think you might get from using the laptop?

    Hi.

    I use 50% bright, 49% vibrance , 80% contrast on my Q210.

How long have you had your Q310 as it can take a while to get use to the screen i went from a 19" to a 12"

    Regards

    John.

I have not used it for too long, but for the times that Ihave I've been ranting about the screen almost all the time :p. My mum also said that it does strain her eyes a little bit..

However - these settings have made it a bit better I guess...

hi mate. no i find the screen is good, i use the following

    brightness 50%
    vibrance 0%
    contrast 50%
    sharpening none
    gamma 50%

i also use these settings on my desktop as well. I do find though that i like the screen best when the brightness of the screen(fn+up) is just over half

yeh i think its just getting the settings the way you like it, if you have a desktop with a nvidia card look at the settings on that and the copy them.

and to answer the question about keyboard flex, i havn't got any and my original q310 didn't either, its a really nice solid keyboard

    Yeah - I mean right now it's actually.. :O good? :p

As for the keyboard flex - I have some on the right side, mainly around the arrow keys, but I wonder if that has anything to do with the laptop lying in a box for a few weeks (repackaged) as we wanted to send it back... due to the display. But now (fingers) crossed me and my mum will get used to the new settings... I think I'm more or less used to them.. yay!

As it goes for using the same settings as the desktop, then I don't know if that would work as now my desktop monitor seems a bit worse than the one on the laptop! 913n is the desktop monitor, just in case...

But thanks for the replies as they more or less helped me adjust t othis laptop! :D
