Hey guys, I just bought my laptop less than a month ago, and I've already run into some problems.

    Here's a list:

    1. The hinge. On the right side (facing the screen), it is off. When you close the lid, there is a noticeable gap of almost 2-3mm. Plus, it seems it has been pushed back a little bit.

    2. The screen. I've only had this laptop for a month now (BestBuys' Return policy, sadly, is 15 days), and the screen has gotten worse. What happened is that the applications have "ghosted" onto the screen, so now I can view my last Paint Tool SAI palette and brush settings while browsing Reddit. This is completely unacceptable--Never, not even my 8 year old Powerbook, have I had this problem before. The screen turns off automatically after 5 minutes, so I don't see how it gets enough time to burn in, and I'm switching windows a lot.

EDIT: After restarting, apparently windows likes to keep windows transparent onto other ones, because as of now it hasn't shown up again.

    3. Cosmetic issue. At the rear of the hinges, at the corners, the paint has started to chip and remove itself little by little.

Now, in case you're wondering, here's how much I use it:

I keep it in a soft case with rubber corners on the outside for protection inside my schoolbag when I need to bring it to school. It has NEVER been tossed around, or even set down harshly. I take care of my things meticulously. If it's not in the case, it's on my desk, (which it has been, for the past two weeks or so) and it doesn't get touched by anyone else.

These problems didn't start showing up until two and a half weeks in. By then it was too late to return it, and I figured I might as well get it solved during the two weeks I have off school next month.

I'd like to get some experiences if you've gone through them. I /really/ need a laptop for school (lots of photoshop, Paint tool SAI, etc.), and I cannot waste much time if they decide to hold the laptop for more than 30 days.

Sorry guys, I'm just freaking out because this was an expensive purchase to me (I hardly buy anything, but when I do I need to know it's going to work....should have gone with the Lenovo...) and wasting time on it is just setting me back from doing homework and research.

The image retention is a known issue that affects some versions of the LCD panel. The other stuff is new, however, and Samsung should definitely replace your device if you call them and (optionally) make a big stink.
