    Hi everyone,

Appreciate it if you can help with a problem that I'm having with my Samsung
    NP-Q35 notebook.

I have an error message, that says "No sound card found" when I tried to install the latest sound driver for the Q35.

The trouble started when I reinstalled my notebook with WinXP. All the other drivers loaded fine except for the sound driver. It just won't install. The error message insist that there is "no sound card".

    Appreciate all your help!

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I've just tried that option. My Windows is XP service pack 3.
The hotfix doesn't install as it says that I have a newer service pack already.

    Any other ideas?

BTW: In the "Device Manager", I see an error message beside a "PCI device" any idea what that is?

    Sam.

It's quite possible that the audio chip sits on the PCI bus, so your challenge is to try to install the driver for that device with an error. You can try to manually install the audio driver. It is AD1996A high definition audio.

    Hey Samatha !
I'm exactly experiencing the same situation as you :
I've got a samsung Q35, XP reinstalled and no sound card found when i try to install the samsung drivers (the card isn't found in the Device Manager either, and there's a problem with my 'PCI device') Did you manage to solve this ? any idea as for how to do ?

Thanks ! your help would be greatly appreciated... I'm tired of reinstalling windows again and again :D

See this and this about the HD Audio support in XP SP3.

Did you also install the modem driver. I think this is another PCI device.

Thanks for the quick answer ! So basically i've got to register an older version of the "CSD" so that windows lets me install the UAA patch manually ! i'll try that later today as soon as i've got a second and let you know !
Modem driver installed and Ethernet card drivers are installed and work fine ...

It depends on which version of XP you have. The second of my links indicates that the final SP3 should include the UAA driver. However, it doesn't want to cooperate then the work-around in the first link is worth trying.
