I am thinking about buying the P460-44P for Business/ personal use. Does anyone have any feedback on this machine. Also i know there is a rebate for the X460 that ends on the 3/31. Is there a rebate for the P460 that anyone knows of?

This is my first time on a forum

    Thanks

The P series are business versions of the consumer R series without, usually, the glossy screen and display back. The X series are the premium models which Samsung seem to have found difficult to move at the original premium pricing.

I recently purchased this system, and I think its great. I can't give a long review. I like the fundamental simplicity and elegance of the system. Even though it is categorized as "business", it fit the bill for me in that it can be used as a personal system that doesn't have all the gloss, glitz, and extra fluff that a lot of "consumer" systems have. It is very solid, quiet, and fast. I have 4 GB of ram on mine and Vista business. The rubberized coating on the outside is functional, the overall keyboard layout is sleek and very usable, the key feel is nice, keys have a slight matte texture, and even tho it is a 14" system, it feels relatively light and portable. Once I get a good sleeve, I'll probably carry it along more often. I struggled with whether to get an NC10 due to all the positive comments. But, I want a solid laptop that I can both use for work-related spreadsheets or documents, and that I can use for personal use such as investment tracking and web use.

All for now. I'll check back to see if you have specific questions. btw, just for comparison, I had a Dell E6400 for a couple of weeks, and returned it. Even though it was less expensive than my Samsung, it just did not seem to have the same level of quality and attention put into it. As I said, I'm very impressed with the Samsung quality, and the particular make-up of the P series.
