Looking to possibly buy this and I'm comparing this to the HP dv7t Select Edition which I have but can still return.

What I like better is the port layout which sucks on the HP. Important to me is the quality of the screen.

The HP has a very nice screen.

    Thanks

Well, there is no return on this from Tigerdirect so I won't be buying it (just in case I don't like it) but still, I guess I'm curious so comments are welcome.

Now, IF someone plans on getting one from Tiger, maybe we can work something out so that I can test one and then send it on or something.

My HP is fine but the layout of the ports really bothers me.

I'm looking at this too. I got a defective DV7T SE--won't even start. This Samsung is a smokin' deal, but not being able to return it is probably a dealbreaker. The offer has been extended until tonight.

Well, if you decide to get one, I'm interested in trying it. I think between the two of us, one of us will like it. Here's what I'm thinking. Option one. I buy it, and get it send to me to try it and you send me say 50-100 bucks to commit that you want it if I don't. I don't like it, you pay the rest.

    IF I like it, you're SOL :)

However, we can do it the other way around, you start and I do the same deposit and if you don't like it, I get it and have to keep it regardless and if you want it, I'm SOL. In both cases we have the option of getting it sent to the other where the other pays the shipping to try it.

Not very smooth and after we pay shipping back and forth, we're now close to the 15% restocking fee but I can't think of another way.

    BEst buy sells this one but they don't have it in the stores either Samsung - Laptop / Intel® Core™ i3 Processor / 15.6" Display / 4GB Memory / 500GB Hard Drive - Ivory - SF510-A01

    Any better ideas?

Actually, there IS no restocking fee. I am confused. They will only repair or replace it.

I just purchased this laptop. It replaced an hp dv7 (I don't remember the rest). The hp kept turning off. I love my samsung. The only problem I am having is with the internal bluetooth. It stopped working after a week. I got the laptop replaced with a new one and same problem. Not sure what is happening. I did a complete restore, so it was not a software conflict. So if you are buying this for the bluetooth, don't. Other than that is amazing. I think the screen looks great.

THanks. I sold my HP dv7 (just like yours) and got this dudes six month old computer instead so unless I find a buyer for his puter, it wont' happen now but still good to know. I love the look of it and the port layout. As for the bluetooth, you can buy a tiny adapter that should do the same and only sticks out half an inch or so, so don't fret.

    Newegg.com - bluetooth adapter

..and yes, you can buy them both smaller and cheaper if that's what you want.

Keep me posted on the Samsung. I might change my mind yet :)

Oh, how is the screen compared to your HP and do you by any chance have the original receipt or something showing WHICH exact model you had? (For the screen)

    Thanks

    George
