Just picked up an NC20 from amazon/Tigerdirect.
There isn't any junk to uninstall really, which is good.
I created a restore point. Updated some software from the Samsung website.

I am installing a 2 gig crucial memory now. I replaced the factory chip just now and booted it up to a black screen. I'm on hold with Crucial. It's a 30 min wait!
    Anyone have advice on this?
    Thanks.

Just spoke to Crucial. I'm told 80% of their calls are for this. Install chip at a 45 degree angle to begin and pop it down into the metal tabs, then push it in a little more from the top with "25 lbs" of pressure. I think I had about 30 lbs on her...Works fine now.
PS- for the next poor person who has to wait 30 min on hold...

I know the modules need to be pushed in firmly, but 25lbs of pressure seems a bit heavy.

Anyway, I'm glad you resolved that problem and can get on with enjoying the NC20.

If Samsung bundled the McAfee AV then remove it and install something that is less resource heavy. NOD32 is one of the best in this respect, but isn't free.

Hey John. Yes, and thanks to you I'm enjoying it. Not sure where the rep from Crucial got the idea of 25 lbs but it worked.
McAfee is terrible. Pops up everywhere! I have Norton ghost and need to see how much space it will take. That was free to me and u know what free gets you. I'll check out NOD32.
