After a forced Windows update, my NP900X4C won't boot to Windows and displays a black screen error "All boot options are tried. Press <F4> key to recover with factory image using Recovery or any other keys for next boot loop iteration."

I can access the BIOS and recovery works entering F4.

It was running Windows 8 and the hard drive was getting kinda full too. Any ideas on a fix?

    Thanks

    Hi Lelu, welcome to NBR.

Since you say that F4 works (Recovery) I would recommend you first use that to create backups: A bootable factory image backup on a USB stick (follow steps 1-2 in this post) and then factory restore so that you can boot Windows and backup your data files.

Once you are backed up, try updating to Win8.1 again. But first make sure you have updated to the latest BIOS version (use the safe procedure here) and installed all updates from Windows Update as well as Samsung SW Update BEFORE you run the 8.1 updater and again AFTER (assuming the update goes better this time).

You may want to study our Win8.1 update thread first. The opening post contains some advice and links to Samsung's official update page.
