I am trying to return my defective laptop to the retailer I bought it from.
However, they are saying that they cannot process the return because I lost the recovery CD.
I do NOT recall ever seeing a CD in the package - all I saw was a computer, power adapter, power cord, and small paper manual. And besides, isn't the whole reason that Samsung created the "recovery solution" software so that they woulnd't have to ship CD software?? Can any other owners please confirm or deny the presence of a recovery CD in the original packaging? Thanks in advance for any/all replies!

Just contact Samsung and tell them you didn't get one with you purchase and they will most probably send you one out in about a week, then return the laptop. But don't mention anything about the problem you're having with the laptop. BTW I got a CD with this laptop.

Whether a Windows disc is included in the box depends on country and model. The only way to be sure whether your model should have come with a disc is to open a new box for exactly the same model. Does the Quick Start Guide (that thin paper manual) list a recovery disc among the contents? If not, you would have no reason to believe that you should have received a disc even if there should have been one but was not included.
