    I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one of those SSD baby's lol ,anything I should know before I buy it?
    Any noticeable gain in performance?improved battery runtime? Will it fit in the stock caddy?

    I believe your notebook has a 7mm 2.5" drive (check for yourself ) and a 2.5" 7mm thick SSD will be a straightforward replacement. In my experience the Samsung SSDs have lower idle power consumption than most competitors which should give a modest improvement to the battery time.

    However, the potential headache is reinstalling Windows because the iSSD (ExpressCache) can confuse the Windows installer. You can either clone your HDD onto the SSD (if you have Windows 8 and Samsung Recovery Solution 6 there is a facility to do this) or install Windows from an optical drive, not a flash drive.
