My Samsung NP350V4X has been experiencing poor wifi connection since the first day i got it a week ago. The wireless card is an Atheros AR9485WB-EG.

On a wireless-N network Even with the router only 10 feet away it always connects and stays at 2Mbps... while the old HP laptop connects to the router 144Mbps..

Has any one else experienced this?

A lot of people whose laptop suffer with this issue, it's got to do with loose cables going to the wifi adapter. if you're lucky this might be your problem.

unfortunately thats not the problem, i disconnected those cables and reattached them to make sure that was not the case. Now it connects a bit better about 45-90Mbps. Btw Whats the model of your wifi card Hersy?

Well when I run Intel® Driver Update Utility it detects and updates Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235 15.1.0 drivers and my laptop works better with those drivers than whatever it was getting from the Samsung driver page or from the using Easy Software manager.

So in that case i'm assuming your wireless card is an Intel...

Well I'm assuming it is, seeing it's an Intel® Auto Detect Driver Updater tool I use to look for updates. I don't have to figure anything out, just click on the "Check your system for the latest drivers".

I would note that different versions of the same notebook can have different WiFi cards. The exact model should be indicated on the label on the box the notebook came in.

Lucky you HerEsy, intel has better performance and less hassle compared to most of Atheros' half sized wireless cards

This may or may not help if you haven't tried it already, have you tried changing the channel number to 11 from the wireless router?

I think he means you try changing the default channel on the router. Run InSSIDer to see where the congestion is on your local airwaves and move the router to a relatively quiet channel.

Thank you for all your help fellas, but it was to no avail, sadly the webcam was not sufficient as it was only 0.3MP so i decided to exchange the samsung. Sad really, besides performance it felt like a good built, specially the blue exterior of the lcd
