    Laptop display after bios screen is blank

    I am using samsung NP900X3A since almost 2 years. it was working fine..; until last week. when i switch it on after reaching home from work the display is blank after the bios screen. reset teh bios to defaults, but still the same.

    the whole screen blinks dimly every couple of seconds

    Can anyone help?

    To clarify: You can read the BIOS screen OK and after that the screen goes blank?

    What happens if you press F2 when the BIOS screen shows. Can you get the various BIOS setup options? Does it list a storage device.#

    My guess would be a worn LCD cable or loose connection. LCD cables can suffer a lot of wear when the lid is opened and closed.

    Does the computer work if connected to an external monitor through HDMI or VGA?

    If you are comfortable opening the laptop, re-seating the LCD cable may either fix it or give you an indication if it is indeed a cable problem. I briefly looked on samsungparts.com, which is our reference place for Samsung spare parts, but I couldn't find an LCD cable for NP900X3A. I did't spent much time, though.

    According to this thread about screen replacement in NP900X3A, the panel in your model is the same as QX310. Presumably that is true for the cable as well.

    This thread discusses a similar sounding case of a worn LCD cable on a Q320.

    If you wait a day or two, other veteran Samsung owners here may have better suggestions.
