Wow its my first netbook and it doesnt feel like a netbook, it feels like a ultraportable notebook!

I am amazed by the quality and the screen is gorgeous! One happy buyer! :D

I am a bit biased, but I do think Samsung makes the best netbooks on the market currently! Now that may change tomorrow as this is certainly a fast evolving industry.

Having started out with the NC10 SE and moving to the N120, I couldn't be happier myself!

Glad the NC10 is great for you!

its a great machine. very powerful considering its price point and form factor.

ive tweaked my machine no end with a 2gig ram upgrade and 7200rpm drive (as you have ive read)
and its very fast now. any system slowdown i had has gone and performance in games has improved.

i would advise looking at some windows xp tweak guides on the net. you can get bags of performance gain by disabling unecesary services and other stuff.

i know it seems silly to get a netbook for gaming. but thats what i did and its wonderful at it as long as you only want to play older games (but saying that... it can play spore and not badly either)

You know I thought that too, but I don't miss that matte screen on the NC10 SE that I returned. I love that this thing isn't reflective like most glossy displays, yet still give the vibrant rich colors including the really deep blacks that you simply can't get with a matte display. But I am glad you are happy none the less, but I don't think I'd go back now! Only Samsung could get a glossy display to look so darn good and yet not be like a freaking mirror.

I'm sure the glossy display isnt as nearly glossy as hp and other notebooks (kind of like the macbook air rev. a that I had which was awesome and colors popped without too much reflection) but something about the total matte display + led backlighting characteristics that I just love. :D

Download and install OpenOffice. Only consider Microsoft Office if there's a feature that it has but OpenOffice lacks.

If you need to install MSOffice then use a computer with an optical drive to copy the whole of the installation CD to a flash drive. Use textpad to read the contents of the autorun.inf file and then find and run the program (probably setup.exe) that is mentioned in autorun.inf.

thats what i normally do, but i have read that its simpler (not for me cause i cant get it working) to network (wirelessly or otherwise) your desktops optical drive and install from there.

I've found peer-to-peer networking in XP to be challenging. Start by making sure the computers are in the same workgroup.
