I just installed an SSD on my laptop.. and reading something it is recommend to have the latest driver for optimization ..

Going in my device manager ... the laptop is using the driver from 2011..AHCI controller

Which is the same one samsung support has posted on their website..

Have any of you updated it via intel.com site?

    Are you running Windows 7?

My Windows 8 X4C is running version 11.5.2.1001 from 2012.

My Win 8 with Intel Rapid Storage 11.6.0.1030 (from Samsung) has an AHCI driver with the same version number dated 9/1/2012.

Do not rely on Samsung's website for drivers. They stopped updating it about a year go. All recent drivers must be pulled from their database using SW Update.
