    Hi,

I bought the NP530U3C-A02 for a couple of days ago, and since start i wanted to do a clean install but i don´t dare to do so, since i´ve heard that samsung has many settings and programs that´s hard to put back in.

    1. What will i loose if i delete everything from drive, and make new install on Windows 8/7, what functions and are they hard to put back?
    2. I quess i will loose the same functions if i decide to install ubuntu?

    3. I found this link: Support for NP530U3C Isn´t these drivers enogh for bringing everything back?

    Here´s my laptop:
    Core i5, 3317U
    4 GB
    128 GB, SSD
    Intel HD Graphics 4000

    thank you

Use Samsung Recovery Solution to make a backup of all drivers/ software before deleting anything.

But the problem is that there´s also a hidden partion, that i cant copy.

Do you think it´s enough to just to do a back up of drivers?

You can back up the recovery partition using software such as Acronis TrueImage. Otherwise, if you delete it then you will lose the ability to restore (using F4 at the BIOS screen) the Windows setup as supplied from the factory. You would then have to do a restore using the Samsung supplied Windows disc and the drivers / software disc you created.

As an alternative to reinstalling Windows you can use Easy Software Manager to uninstall any software you don't want.

Samsung is promising Windows 8 support for your notebook. It may be less painful to wait until it arrives.

Re-installing is always the best option to remove bloatware and partition your HDD
Have you got a windows installation disc ??
If not, get one or download one ;)

    1. Backup all your personal data into an external hard drive or DVDs
    2. Put the windows CD into the CD drive, and reboot,
    3. Upon reboot go to bios (F2 at startup) go to boot options >> override boot order >> select your CD drive name >> save and exit
    4. Now you will boot from DVD
    5. Install windows using Custom (advanced) install option (not upgrade)
    6. In the next screen you can format and partition your hard drives
My recommendation on hard drive partition
    a. Delete all your partitions (including the recovery partition)
    b. Create new C partition of 70 GB exclusively for windows
    c. partition remaining space as per your preference (if you want more than 4 drives you will have to do that after installation)
    d. install windows in C: drive
    7. After installation go to Samsung website>>support>>Manuals and downloads>>select your products>>download and install drivers (Chipset, Graphics, audio, Intel matrix storage, bluetooth, touchpad, WLAN, LAN, etc)
    8. Install the softwares you like
    9. Tweak the OS to match your preferences (i would recommend minimal startup items in msconfig)
    10. Go to control Panel >> Backup and restore >> on left pane "create system image"
    11. Create an image of the current system state to an external hard disk and back it up there (this is your personalied backup image - better than the crap you get from samsung)
    12. Enjoy

See this thread about how to get the Intel Rapid Start Technology working. For me, it's a very useful feature.

Samsung could do more to prompt users to do this. It's probably buried in the User Guide (that no one reads).
