    Hello all,

I'm interested in latest ATIV 9 Plus, but I have a question I cannot solve either on samsung website or reseller sites. In Europe (Italy and Switzerland) are available these models:

    NP940X3G-K02IT

    NP940X3G-K04CH

From resellers I see that are almost the same exact product with i7/8gb/256SSD .
One mention that screen is touch and other not but I think is more a missing info.

So, what is the meaning of K and 02/04 ? .... IT/CH might just describe the keyboard layout and/or power plug.

    Thanks
    Ste

All the NP940X3G versions are touchscreen. Based on the numbering of other models, if there was a non-touch version it would be NP930X3G.

The last two letters are a country identifier (IT=Italy, CH=Switzerland, etc., with the exception that UB=Best Buy (in the US)). Country-specific aspects are, as you surmised, the keyboard and the power plug).

However, all the last 5 digits are a country code. Each Samsung country marketing office selects what they think they can sell from the range of factory options. I haven't figured out the logic behind the first letter (K in the numbers you have mentioned but A and S are also common) and the two numbers are then just a sequence number in the versions being ordered by the country. So K02 in Italy may, or may not, have the same hardware as K02 in another country.

The other variable in the mix is the version of the operating system. Eg normal or Pro versions of Windows or, for some versions aimed at business users, Windows 7.
