I have a 4 month old NP700Z5B. I read reviews where this bad boy gets 7-8 hours of battery life but there must be some tweaking involved. I use it with screen on the lowest brightness, wifi is on, and on the samsung power plan.

I have the default 80% battery thing on. Should I turn this off? If so, is that how reviewers like Samsung NP700Z5B-W01UB Review & Rating | PCMag.com got their 8 hour number?

At first I was getting 2 hours 45 minutes battery on a full charge (which I guess is 80%). I went into the switchable graphics and saw that Chrome was on the ATI list. So I changed that. Now I get a little over 4 hours, which is better I guess.

When I first unplug it will stay up around 5 hours 30 minutes but as soon as I start doing some simple web browsing it will drop down closer to 4. Right now it says 4 hours 10 minutes @ 72%.

I get 5+ hrs on my 700Z5A with the 80% "charge block" in place, so 7-8 hrs sounds like a resonable number with a 100% charged battery.

This is with 30% or so screen brightness, wifi on and doing normal computer work, like watching videos or programming or surfing etc...

Perhaps the 700Z5B have a smaller battery?

My capacity is 79920mWh out of 80216mWh, so I've only had 0.4% battery wear in little over 6 months using the 80% limit at 99% of the days, except when I knew I needed more.
