I'm not technically gifted, but I have had this computer since 2013. I still seldom game on it, but I haven't updated my graphics drivers since 2015. As far as I know, SW Update doesn't update my graphics and the last time I did, it involved lots of steps including downloading AMD Catalyst Drivers.

So this computer has the switchable graphics with an AMD Radeon 8870M. The AMD Catalyst Driver shows that my computer has a "AMD Radeon R9 M200X Series" which I believe is the same.

How do I know what is a newer stable driver is for my computer and where can I find it? I don't want to risk anything and downloading the wrong things as this is the only computer I have for my everyday uses.

Thanks! I hope someone with more knowledge on this can help me!

Achieving a fully functioning graphics setup on this notebook family can be challenging but it can be done. Start at the end of this thread and work backwards.

I think you should probably ask yourself if you really NEED to update your graphics card before doing it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it :)
