    Hello

How do I get my Samsung Series 7 Ultra Notebook (upgraded to run on Windows 10) to come back to life faster after I close the lid?

Is there some form of "Instant on" much like an iPad has that comes to life in a faction of a second after I have closed the lid?

Ideally it shouldn't use to much power and if possible not need a password? Ideally this mode should expire after say a couple of hours and then require the password. And after say 24 hours assuming that this mode is still draining some power, the computer should then go into a 100% non-power-draining mode.

Fwiw, I absolutely HATE using the password a many-times-per-day basis because Microsoft seem to have FORCED me to have just ONE password for my entire which means that it needs to be a long, very secure one.

    Thanks

    J

PS I have just discovered "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings". It seems that "When I close the lid:" the setting was "Sleep" for both on battery and plugged in. I will now change the Plugged in setting to "do nothing".

I seem to have "Turn on fast startup" ticked with a grey tick... All I can say is that I don't think 10 seconds is very fast to recover!

I'm wondering if the feature you are missing is the Intel Rapid Start Technology. Unfortunately, this useful feature is not supported by Windows 10 (it's called progress :D). I also liked the near-instant wake-up but, at the same time, was concerned that it bypassed a BIOS password.
