Hi
I am still looking for a light weight, high resolution portable monitor for my Samsung Series 7 Ultra Notebook (model: NP740U3E-S04UK)
Ideally I need:
- High resolution, 5:4 aspect ratio - ideally WUXGA (1920x1200) resolution
- Fairly light in weight & robust design (i.e. designed to be semi-portable)
- Reasonable colour accuracy (for web design work)
- Sensible price (I am based in the UK) - certainly sub £250
Background:
I find myself increasingly hate the Full HD format. In practice, rather than feel nice and wide, it feels vertically narrow and I keep needing to scroll a lot, particularly if I have increased the text DPI size for (using the screen)
Usage:
I shall be moving it quite a lot. e.g. Throwing it in the back of the car. I need to be able to put it up quickly and move and adjust it easily.
I have already bought an external keyboard and mouse, so that the laptop's screen wont get in the way of an external monitor.
Questions:
My NP740U3E-S04UK laptop has a AMD Radeon™ HD 8570M graphics card (with 1GB gDDR3 Graphic Memory)
- Anyone know what the maximum resolution of monitor will be that it can work with?
- Is it better to use the HDMI port or is it possible to use on of the USB ports?
With thanks
J
