Hi. New at this. Could someone help me with the difference between the Samsung R580-11 and the R580-JBB2? I want to "push the button" at bestbuy.com ASAP, but not sure which to get.
The prices are only $20 different.
Gaming/graphics are not a big deal to me. If one might actually have a longer battery life, that would be nice.
I can't compare the hard drive speed bcs it is only listed for the JBB2 (5400). The only differences noted on the bestbuy.com comparison chart are (JBB2 info listed first):
    Processor Speed 2.53GHz vs 2.26GHz
Video Memory 1756MB (shared) vs. 348MB (shared)
Audio SRS 3D vs enhanced HD
Battery Life Up to 3 hours vs Up to 4 hours
    Price $729 vs $749
    Thanks so much!

The R580-11 has the Intel® Core™ i3 350 and the R580-JBB2 has the slightly faster Intel Core i3-370M. Otherwise they look to be the same and I think its a matter of a new batch with a small CPU bump. Other than the CPU the hardware appears to be the same (4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Intel graphics and a Blu-ray player). I would therefore opt for the JBB2 (I also note that the URL for the R580-11 given above actually contains the name "JBB1").

Thanks. Sounds like the JBB2 is the way to go. The only thing that perplexes me is that the comparison chart at bestbuy.com lists the JBB2 with "up to 3 hours" battery life, and the -11 with "up to four hours" of battery life. Do you think that is just something taken from the marketing material, etc or is there anything you can see in the specs that would make the -11 have a longer battery life? Sorry to be nitpicky, I just have read that battery life is not the greatest with these computers, so looking to get all I can.
    Thanks!

The PCmag review of the -JBB2 says
. I can't find a full battery spec for the R580-11 but I expect it is the same. Perhaps they were getting too many complaints about the battery life claim and made a reduction for the new model. If you want a longer battery run time then see this thread.

FYI there is a thorough review of the R580 at trusted reviews but note that this (UK) model includes an Nvidia GPU (which I would expect to increase power consumption).
