Consumer reports 2010 has the N120-12g at the top of the Netbook list.
Current pricing is around $350. $350 to $400 is my range.
What is the difference between- a N120-12g and 13g?

    Are the NC10, N110, N130, NC20, or NB30 a better/newer netbook?

And has anyone purchased a Samsung refurbished?
Amazon has a couple refurbished units available.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, Samsung offer a lot of choice. The differences fall into various categories including:

    1. Glossy or matte screen. Matte can handle different lighting conditions better, including outside.

    2. Keyboard size.

    3. Battery capacity and run time.

    4. Colour.

Trusted Reviews have detailed reviews of several of the Samsung netbooks.

Thanks for the reply. The review helped alot.
The review list doesn't have the NC20. Also the NC20 isn't listed on the Samsung website. Does that mean they no longer make them?
So that must be the newest model?
Best bet after much reading- is to get the NC20,and 2 gig ram.
    (Using DDR2 PC2-6400200-pin SODIMM...)
Also looking for a tough housing/sleeve.
Is Samsung tough to deal with for any returns?
This years release of the newer Netbooks have i3 and i5. Probably by the end of the year they will be discounted $150-200. off their retail price as well.
I read where alot of people go through the same mind strain I'm going through now choosing a computer. But I like to think of it as the hunt being fun.
    Thanks for any help.

It does appear that the NC20 has been discontinued (eg it's no longer on the Amazon UK website). That's a shame, because the 12.1" 1280 x 800 display made it much more usable than the 10" screens (I had both the NC10 and NC20 at one stage and kept the NC20. However, I don't think it sold very well on account of the uncommon VIA CPU.

Perhaps you will find one if you search around.

I have found one. But, which is the next level up, or the newest one? Is the processor much faster than the NC20? I see the are N450's on the market now.
Is that considered much faster ? Or in your mind is there a 12" Samsung better than the NC20 right now?

Funny I post questions I find the answers afterwards.
Is the N510-13P considered the next/ newest version of the NC20? And is the N510 worth around $200. more?

The N150 has the Atom N280 CPU, nVidia Ion graphics and an 11.6" 1366 x 768 pixel display. However, there is a shortage of reviews of this model. Whether this, or the NC20 would be the better choice would depend on your requirements.

The N150 should have significantly better graphics performance but that may reduce the battery run time. Personally, I don't like the move towards wider widescreen displays which mean that more vertical scrolling is needed for normal text work. Also, I would expect my eyes to complain about the smaller pixels on the N150's screen but if your eyes are young and have excellent reading vision then this should not be an issue.

If your needs are simple web browsing, emails and other text work then the NC20 may suit you fine, particularly if the price is discounted.

    Excellent!
I've been to at least 3 retail stores in the past couple weeks looking at computers.( It's a shame Samsung isn't anywhere in the retail market. )
I had the chance to look at a few. The HP Pavilion DM-3 looked pretty solid. Tough to tell when the store has them surrounded in metal plating bolted to the counter so they don't disappear. And you don't get the chance get online to see the performance for yourself. So, thats where you guys come in I guess...
I have read your reviews on a few Samsung notebooks. I don't require much
more than the average person and I'm thinking the NC20 is a little over avg.
So, I'll pick one of those up. :D finally decided!
    Thanks again for the help.

I agree, only spend the extra money if you know you need the extra features. Otherwise save the $200 towards something better in a couple of years.

Mine's only a 12.1" but I agree that it's a good machine for undemanding users. It would be even better if Samsung had given it a non-glossy screen.
