Is it possible to get a Firewire connection on the Series 7 Chronos?

Can you install an expresscard or something to get a firewire port?

I didn't see a listing for an expresscard slot on your spec sheet so, unless you see one on your laptop, there is no way. Firewire uses its own controller so it needs direct access to your system bus.

The ebay firewire to usb adapters just end up frying your usb port and whatevers attached to it :-(

What are you trying to do that requires firewire? You do have superspeed usb 3.0 ports so you can get a superfast thumbdrive or hard drive

Basic music production using a DAW.

A lot of audio interfaces use firewire so it would have been a nice option.

My dad was a recording engineer so I totally understand. I hope that thunderbolt eventually makes it to nice mainstream laptops.
