    Hi all,

I have a Series 7 Chronos, NP700Z5C-S04US. I reinstalled windows 8 recently, and was pleasantly surprised to find myself granted Settings version 2.0.0.65 by Software Update. I'm shooting myself now, though, because I uninstalled it to resolve a driver issue, and now I am stuck at version 2.0.0.30. This is a bummer since some nice new features, like control of automatic brightness, were added. It also seems to be more efficient and always pop in front of the active window.
Does anyone have a copy of the Settings 2.0.0.65 installer lying around?
    Thanks
    Xenon

I just looked around in the different models in SW Update and couldn't find 2.0.0.65. I've been recommending (and using) 2.0.0.55 myself since last summer, which is available under model NP880Z5E-X03CA, and it DOES have Adaptive Brightness control on my NP700Z3A -- as well as Battery Life Extender and ExpressCache for models with those features (like yours and mine).

There is a different track of Settings versions 2.1.x and 2.2.x released with the Haswell models (such as NP940X3G and NP900X3G) which is also (more) compatible with Win 8.1. But it doesn't have BLE and EC for our older models.

Otherwise you can check the new Easy Settings 2.0.0.72 mentioned in the Settings thread (linked below) which may contain both Settings and Easy Settings inside the install package.

If you (or others) find a model in SW Update with Settings 2.0.0.65 readily downloadable, then please let us know -- either here or in the Settings thread.

Thanks for the reply! I am currently running 2.0.0.55 I think, but I didn't see the adaptive brightness setting. I will check out the settings link.
EDIT: Tried uninstalling and reinstalling 2.0.0.55, worked like a charm, have all the settings I know and love. Thanks for the advice!
