    Samsung XE500T1C-A04US running Windows 8

    Hello All,

I want to create Recovery Media on a USB Flash drive and then delete the Recovery Partition. Can anyone give proper procedure for doing such as the Samsung tech details didn't seem fully correct to me.

    1) She said I may not be able to perform a Full Recovery with a USB flash drive if I deleted the Recovery Partition?

    2) She also said they recommend using DVD Recovery Media and not a USB Recovery flash drive. This doesn't seem correct given my notebook doesn't even come with a DVD player.

    3) Samsung provides Recovery Media for free but the tech stated it only comes with Windows 8 on it and not any Samsung software? What about Samsung drivers and the SW Update and Settings icon/utilities or other such Samsung pre-installed software?

    Thanks,
    Ralph

There are various threads and posts on this subject. For example, this and this.

You will need a 32GB USB drive (preferably two so you have a backup) and check that the computer will boot off the flash drives once you have made the backup. DVD doesn't seem a good idea since you will need multiple discs.

I thought Samsung wanted to be paid for supplying media. The best way to to get a copy of all the Samsung drivers / software is to find your model in SW Update and then export everything to a folder which you put on the backup flash drive.
