    Hi everyone,
I bought a Samsung N150 in the United States but now am in Australia. I have a VGA compatible TV and chord, but can't get the laptop to recognize the TV. Is PAL the problem, or is there something I'm not thinking about? Thanks for any info.

The TV standard should be irrelevant if you are connecting via a VGA cable.

Did you try booting the N150 with the TV already connected? This helps with the hardware detection. Also, once started did you use the Fn key option (Fn+F4?) which steps through the display device options?

Yeah it's the strangest thing. The TV screen flickers when I remove the chord, but I can't get the damn computer display to come up on the screen. It seems like it must be some kind of setting but I've been through every setting screen twice. Do you think it has to do with the Intel graphic settings? Super annoying, the computer is brand new. Thanks for any response

A bit of flicker suggests a cable / connection problem.

I would try using a different VGA cable.
